1 Million Trees
PLANTING 1 MILLION TREES BY 2035
The Evergreen Reforestation Initiative
Evergreen Building Maintenance is dedicated to environmental sustainability and has set a significant goal to plant one million trees by the year 2035. This commitment became even more vital in the wake of the 2023 devastating forest fire that struck Kelowna, displacing thousands and ravaging hundreds of acres of precious forested land. We take these environmental challenges seriously and believe that it’s our responsibility to be part of the solution. Through our tree-planting initiative, we aim to contribute to the reforestation efforts, not only in Kelowna but also in other affected regions. Our pledge to plant one million trees represents our unwavering commitment to the environment, as we work towards rebuilding and preserving the natural beauty and balance that our planet deserves.
The Initiative
British Columbia (B.C.) is covered with nearly 60 million hectares of dense forest. The beautiful province has a rich diversity of wildlife with more large animal species, like the Black Bear, Grizzly Bear, Moose, and Gray Wolf, than any other part of North America, making it a vital habitat for wildlife conservation. Unfortunately, many areas of the forest have weakened due to pests and diseases and are now kindling for destructive fires.
Planting a tree can protect and help restore B.C. wildlife’s homes.
The Difference You Make
We work with Forest Management professionals who rehabilitate B.C.’s forests with strict forest policies, conservation programs, and scientific research. By supporting our initiative, you help to reduce infestations, decrease wildfire impacts, conserve natural land for wildlife, and preserve B.C.’s natural resources for future generations.

For Your Benefit
In gratitude for your generosity, you’ll receive a personalized ‘I Planted A Tree, I Secured A Future’ tree certificate. We can’t wait for the positive change to the environment your trees will bring.

Type of Trees
Most trees are softwoods like the tall Douglas-Fir, Western Red Cedar, and Lodgepole Pine. Our restoration partner carefully chooses trees based on what the area needs, both for nature and the economy. Your donation plants different trees, whether it’s for timber production, wildlife habitat restoration, or making forests stronger against pests and changing climate.

aBOUT BRITISH COLUMBIA
The West Coast of Canada houses a diverse landscape of ecosystems. The Great Bear Rainforest features temperate forests with towering tall trees, like the Sitka spruce, western red cedar, and Douglas-fir. The southern Okanagan Valley is known for its grasslands, which provide a natural environment for species like the burrowing owl, badgers, and raptors. The Rockies present an alpine tundra landscape, and near the Osoyoos, you’ll find Canada’s only desert, where species of rattlesnakes and cacti can be found.
However, B.C.’s natural habitats are at risk. Human activities such as logging, mining, and urban development, combined with the challenges of climate change, are putting pressure on these ecosystems. The province in 2023 saw its most destructive wildfires yet.
It’s reported that in 2023, B.C. faced its most devastating wildfire season surpassing the destruction of 2018, which resulted in nearly 1.4 million hectares burned, a staggering $615 million in expenses, and the evacuation of thousands of residents. Wildfires don’t just harm the environment, they significantly impact communities, transportation systems, and public health.
With your support, we can restore these forests and sustain a thriving home for all its inhabitants.
Why Support the Reforestation Initiative

Mitigate Wildfire Effects
Young forests act as natural barriers, slowing down wildfires, reducing fire intensity, and producing less harmful smoke.

Help Forest Health
Pests like the bark beetle and Gypsy Moth can damage our forests. A forest with a mix of tree ages and species is stronger against changing climate conditions.

Protect Homes
Forests serve as sanctuaries for wildlife, from birds like the Gold Eagle to mammals like the mountain lion to insects and amphibians.
